Past Cases
Champway has always been at the forefront of addressing Hong Kong’s waste oil issues and has been trusted by the government to resolve major waste oil incidents.
In 2014, during the toxic lard incident in Hong Kong, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department seized over 200 tons of substandard lard, which was then handled by Champway.
In 2017, a collision between two vessels in Hong Kong waters led to a significant palm stearin spill into the sea, causing serious environmental harm. Champway was one of the companies that assisted in handling the stearin. Palm stearin is extremely difficult to process due to its high melting point and its tendency to adhere to debris and sand during retrieval, but Champway still gave its full effort.
